Accommodation Options at Poinciana Tourist Park Yeppoon

There is a range of places to stay at the Poinciana Tourist Park, including camping sites and small self contained cabins.   Below is a brief overview of the various options available.

Cabins

Poinciana Tourist Park has simple studio cabins which can sleep up to 4 people (and a maximum of 2 dogs).  These cabins have a queen bed and set of bunk beds.  Cabins come with a kitchenette featuring a fridge, microwave, cooktop and a range of crockery.

Cabins start at $85 per night for a budget cabin which doesn’t have a bathroom or $99 per night for cabins with an ensuite.

We stayed in a budget cabin without a bathroom and found this fine.  It’s just a short walk from the cabin to the bathroom.

Camp & Caravan Sites

Poinciana Caravan Park

The holiday park also has a range of powered and unpowered sites.   Each site can accommodate up to 6 people (and a maximum of 2 dogs) and provides access to the camp kitchens, laundries and all of the other excellent facilities on site.

Unpowered sites start at $32 and powered sites start at $35.  Rates are per night and for two people.

Faciltities at Poinciana Caravan Park Yeppoon

There isn’t an endless supply of facilities at the Poinciana Caravan Park – but all the essentials are here.

Swimming Pool

Poinciana Caravan Park

A partially shaded saltwater swimming pool is available for guests.   There is also a few tables and chairs around the pool.

The pool is open from 8 am to sunset.

Camp Kitchen and BBQs

There is one camp kitchen close to the unpowered sites.  The kitchen is not overly big but comes with all you need including a BBQ, fridge, kettles, toaster, microwave and a few pots and pans.  There is an inside seating area as well as an outdoor undercover area which also has a TV.

The camp kitchen was absolutely spotless while we were there – one of the cleanest I’ve seen.

Also in the centre of the park is another undercover BBQ area.

The camp kitchen is open daily from 6 am to 9 pm.

Laundry Facilities

Poinciana Caravan Park

There is one laundry at the park which is stocked with multiple washing machines and dryers.  The laundry is open from 6.30 am to 9.30 pm daily.

Amenity Blocks

There are two amenity blocks across the park.   There is one large amenities block in the centre of the park with plenty of toilets and showers.  This is the only amenities block we used during our stay and found it pretty much immaculate!

There is also another small amenities block located near the unpowered campsites.

Dump Point

There is one dump point on site which is located by the main amenities block.

Poinciana Caravan Park Yeppoon – Our Verdict

We only spent one night at Poinciana Caravan Park – just as we were coming off Great Keppel Island and left early the next morning.  Nevertheless, we had a good look around and were really impressed with how well the park was maintained and how clean all the amenities were.

The park is certainly well positioned for those who want to get around to all the attractions in Yeppoon, plus it is within walking distance to various shops which is always handy.

While it doesn’t have too many things to do within the park, the swimming pool is more than enough if you’re not trying to entertain kids.

If you’re looking for a good, simple caravan in Yeppoon – don’t hesitate to book Poinciana Tourist Park.
